Sure, go ahead! I keep local chat muted 98% of the time. You know why.

I think one solution would be to make a special district in popular trading towns. It could be "Lions Arch Trading District 1" and "Droknars Forge Trading District 1" for instance. Then have the regular districts start before or after those.
Sorry if someone has already posted this idea, I've only read the first and last page.

Pink text makes you go blind and I REFUSE TO HAVE TO LOOK AT PINK TEXT ONLY.
Change your title to address the REAL PROBLEM
FUNTION KEYS PROGRAMS
That is the problem and ONLY that.
Honest sellers that use chat because they dont want to go blind are being targeted by your silly words and thats bs.
ANET has taken actions to control all the chat issues EXCEPT Function Keys Spammers.
THEY ARE THE PROBLEM AND ONLY THEM
Well also all you jerks that cry and message people harrasing them.
Its sick and you need help
Have a heart attack please and leave us honest sellers alone.

pink makes you go blind? that is the best you can do? really now, is that it? I mean, we can wait if you want to come up with another excuse for your lazy habit of not wanting to switch between local chat and trade. I have no problem with good polite sellers or buyers. However, forcing your sales pitch on people is neither good nor polite. Next time you post try to be a bit more polite yourself. You will find your arguements are met with more seriousness and people will listen to you.

I also refuse to look at only pink text. If people don't use Local to break up the pink, I feel I have to do it myself -- it's very hard to read.
Even if they introduce an auction house or something similar, people will still spam local. If people want to buy something, they should go to the lower# capital districts. That's where all the sellers are. But yet it's still profitable to map around the world selling stuff.
So anyway, it's here to stay. If it's really too much a problem, than you're probably in too low a district in the capital cities.
I will say I hope they fix the filter to prevent the 1 2 3 spammers. But those aren't even limited to selling. I see tons of people LFG or LFM like that too.

Any kind of spam is bad. Spamming LFG/LFM isn't any better than spamming WTS/WTB.
I hope along with the auction house they will also add a similar feature for easier party formation, so I won't have to unmute local chat any more, EVER, even if I'm LFG/LFM. I'm thinking of a "black board" where you can post your profile (what quest/mission you want to do, what is your preferred role, etc.) so other players can browse the list and send you an invite, or request for invite respectively.

Its hard to read the pink text - I think that's why sellers get more responses when using Local, cause its easier to read.
gg anet. just keep blaming the sellers and ignoring the source of the problem - the sh*tty trading system.

This way people will get too lazy to type words for numbers and use trade channel. Usual local channel however wont suffer from using words for numbers, since they rarely use them, unlike traders with all the statistical numbers.

I hate that idea. People starting groups will also have to play by those rules (five/eight needs two monks and a MM).
Besides, it's not a big deal for traders because they just type it in once & repeat the text line. With groups they constantly change the numbers reflecting group size.
